We received a nice note from Joan Brenneke, professional dog trainer and owner of “The Irish Boys,” a troupe of poodle entertainers from South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. One of those Irish Boys is Sean Patrick Rafferty; he is one of Monique’s puppies so that makes Sean Patrick my uncle.
Sean Patrick is nine years old, full of himself (like I’m not LOL), and brings joy to the hearts of nursing home and hospital residents. Joan says, “He was destined to do the job that he does.”
Joan was kind enough to send us a copy of an article appearing recently in South Coast Today (“Trainer Has a Passion for Poodles,” Brian J. Lowney, December 22, 2007). Here’s a snippet from the article:
"They (nursing home residents) shout 'the Irish boys are coming, the Irish boys are coming,' " Mrs. Brenneke says. "One man always tells me, 'You make me so happy.' "
Read the full article (click on the link above) to learn why Joan prefers male dogs.
If you’d like to get more information about Joan’s dog-training business, Killarney Obedience School, or to book The Irish Boys for a performance, contact Joan by telephone at (508) 994-1618 or by email (The Irish Boys)
Until next time,
Mr. Dibs
