CRosstickle Labradors

My name is Michelle Greeley Phillips. My husband David, our son Kyle and I are located in the beautiful
1000 islands Ontario, Canada.

I am a graduate of the Veterinary Assistant program at St. Lawrence College Kingston Ontario. I have also taken other interest courses such and animal behavior and attend seminars when available to learn all I can about, canine health issues,
dog behavior and obedience training. I am a certified Canine Good Neighbour Evaluator for the Canadian Kennel club. To learn more about the Canine Good Neighbour test please visit the following link.

“Good Dogs Make Good Neighbours”

Our Labradors are first our family members and live in the house.
At Crosstickle, our dogs participate in obedience classes and trials as well as field work, show handling classes and conformation shows as well therapy dog work. Temperament and soundness are important qualities in our Labradors.

My hometown is Lewisporte Newfoundland. As a child I spent many summers visiting my grandparents on Bell Island. I have fond memories with them that I will cherish forever. To get to Bell Island you had to cross over on a ferry from Portugal Cove. The water way is called the “Tickle” which means a narrow salt-water strait often difficult or treacherous to navigate because of the tides. The Bell island tickle was often impossible go through because of the ice in the spring.

My desire to protect the Labrador breed is compared to “crossing the tickle”. I will do all I can for my dogs no matter the obstacles.

When I think of the Labrador, I think of my home where these seadogs were first originated. I am dedicated to the preservation of the breed. My hope is to breed the versatile Labrador, that could be of a sound temperament, and healthy.
