Prayer

asking and listening...

There is a famous business axiom, “If you want to know something, ask an expert.”  If you want to know how to play basketball, ask Michael Jordan.  You want to know how to eat healthily, consult a book on nutrition.  If you want to know how to pay your bills on time, talk to a financial planner.  If we want to learn the benefits and discipline of prayer – ask the expert – Jesus Christ himself.

If there was anyone who had a full agenda, it was Jesus – people wanted him to heal them, to forgive their sins, to feed them, and all the while he had 12 guys hanging around him trying to understand what following him meant – and yet he was not too busy to pray.  One his disciples stumbled in on him while he was praying privately (Luke 11:1) and they were so moved by his earnestness and intensity that they asked, “Would you teach us to pray like that?”

CrossRoads has a Prayer Team that meets regularly to pray for the needs of people, for the church and our world, and to listen for God’s leadings.  If you have need for prayer, you may request it by calling the church office at 896-7000 or by clicking here to email it to us.
