Commonplace Holiness:
Up on My Soapbox

I will be adding new entries to this blog at a steady (but, I hope, not overwhelming) rate.
The articles that I used to have on the web as part of the Weidman UMC site (if anybody out there remembers that) will slowly get added in here. And, of course, I will be adding some new articles, etc. to this. Eventually when enough is up here I will add some topic pages with direct links to articles in the blog archive.
So, the blog page is going to be quite active for quite a while. Subscribing to the RSS feed here should keep you updated on my progress. It will be a busy year for the blog. Eventually the activity will probably die down, but I expect the blog page will have regular additions throughout this year and maybe also into next year.
The podcasts will simply be old sermons I've preached, and I'll add a "new" (old) one each month. Yes, I have greater plans for this, but this is all I can manage right now. In time, I'd like to add interviews (but I currently don't have the audio equipment that I'd like) and even video podcasts (an even bigger issue of equipment & server space) — but don't hold your breath for anything like that.
I'll will be adding links too — probably when I add the topic pages, to inform people of other blogs and other interesting sites around the web.
I may add some other sections to this: personal photo pages and pages on non-theological topics like gardening, jazz, tropical fish, etc. Who knows?
The next major project after the blog & the topic pages & the podcast might be a Sermon Helps page for pastors preaching from the Common Lectionary. There are a lot of these kind of sites on the web already but most of them focus on literary / historical issues rather than grammar and word-meanings. I would include insights from early Methodist leaders & commentators. I would also add my own sermon notes and snippets from very old published sermons. It seems to me that might fill a need not presently met. And, it would also have an RSS feed, so that people could be updated on what is posted. But, this is just an idea in the back of my head — if I ever work on it at all it would be a very, very long way off.
I'm always glad to get feedback. So, your comments and suggestions are always helpful. I'd be glad to know what you find helpful - and what (maybe) you don't.
