Sox 4 - Yanks 0

Well the Sox have been rockin’ and rollin’ in their games against the Yankees thus far, and all of Red Sox Nation is ecstatic.   The first series looked like it would get
off to a horrible start with exploits of Alex Rodriguez.  However the
good Sox offense and the horrible Yankees  bulplpen  combined
to give the Red Sox a comeback victory.  The rest of the series
wasn’t really all that close.  That is always fun to watch.

But now the Yankees have dropped 7 straight games after another
Sox Offense-Yanks bullpen combo meal as noted above produced
an explosive comeback behind the hard hitting Julio Lugo.

The effect of all this is close to nuclear down in NYC, as it seems the Yanks now have Joe Torre on a short leash.  In fact, it is rumored that if the Sox sweep this weekend series, that poor Joe will be fired before Monday rolls around.

Now, I hate the Yankees, but I respect the heck out of most of them, and Joe Torre is foremost on that list.  If King George fires him, the Yankees really deserve whatever they get.  God forbid, but maybe the Sox should tank a game to help Joe save his job....

One point of order on the Yankee’s slide.  The last time they lost 7 straight games was during the 2000 season.  Can anyone else name another accomplishment they had that year?
