Convictions of Honor

   Veritas, Integritas, Fidelitas

We live in an age where men of small character are often honored as great men. We live in a society where petty schemes receive more attention than grand ideas. We live in a world where secular humanism flourishes and Christianity falls under relentless attack. We live in a time where good sense is often replaced by nonsense. We live in an era where people seek political advantage rather than honor. We live in just such a situation, but it need not remain so.

We can restore respect for the truth of God’s Word. We can restore respect for the Constitution. We can restore respect for morality and decency in society. We can restore respect for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We can restore respect for our fellow man. But we must begin by rising above religious and political convictions of convenience and seek to restore for ourselves convictions of honor and good sense.

These are my convictions--based not on the casual whim of personal convenience but on an abiding faith in God’s Word coupled with confidence in the vision of our founding fathers. A return to convictions of honor requires moral and intellectual courage of the highest caliber. For we must be willing to examine not only the pages of timeless documents but our own motivations, attitudes, and assumptions as well.

This is a worthwhile quest and an honorable endeavor. I invite you to join me on this journey that together we may have an impact for good in the lives of others and so on society as a whole.

Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense.

Winston Churchill

October 29, 1941

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

2 Timothy 1:12
