Conestoga Swim Club uses a new system of email and web based club announcements. If you’ve experienced the Radnor Aquatic Club’s email announcements and web postings, you will find this model very familiar.
There are 2 ways to get the latest CSC news on your computer.
Manually, by directing your web browser to the CSC website.
Automatically, by joining our CSC Yahoo Groups.
Both methods are free, private and safe. You can use either one or both methods.
MANUALLY VIA WEB BROWSER
The same announcements sent to the Yahoo Groups via email will also be placed on the CSC website. You can view announcements anytime with your browser by going to the CSC website and/or subscribing to the RSS feed on the CSC website. The 50 most recent articles will be viewable and searchable. You will not have to subscribe to or join a Yahoo! Group to gather and view news manually.
AUTOMATICALLY VIA EMAIL
CSC announcements will be sent via email through Yahoo! Groups. To receive these emails you will need to “subscribe” to the Yahoo! Group(s) hosting CSC announcements. To use Yahoo! Groups, all you need is internet access and a basic email program. It’s free, secure and spam-protected. You can subscribe with multiple email addresses if multiple family members need access to email announcements.
Note: When you subscribe, your email address is not available to anyone except the CSC group moderator (a CSC member) and your email address will not be shared for any purpose other than CSC announcements. Also, when emails are sent, no receiver will be able to view your email address and/or send you an email.
Finally, with each email you receive from the CSC Yahoo! Group, you’ll have the option to “unsubscribe” if you decide you no longer want to receive the emails by this method.
Subscribe vs Join - Clarification
In addition to “subscribe”, Yahoo permits you to “join” a group. If you join a group you’ll receive emails (like “subscribe”) AND be able to log onto the Yahoo Group site where the CSC announcements are archived. There’s no advantage to “join” a group since we post all announcements to the current CSC website so you already have access to the archive without having to “join” a group. If you “join” you’ll need to create a Yahoo ID (free).
There are 4 separate groups:
1) General - (Pool Closures, Social Events, Schedule Changes, Lost & Found, etc)
2) Swim Team - (Swim Team Practice Announcements, Warm Up Times, Participant List, Coach’s Emails, etc)
3) Tennis Team - (Tennis Team Announcements, Schedule Changes, etc)
4) Paddle Team - (Paddle Team Announcements, Schedule Change, etc)
We recommend all CSC members join the CSCgeneral group in order to receive timely club reminders. You can join any or all CSC groups depending on the type of information you want to stay on top of. Occasionally, major announcements, like pool closures, will be sent to all groups so you may experience duplicate emails.
