                       Cliff Rossberg

                           Wildlife Artist

                         Great Falls, MT

Welcome to Rossberg Fine Art, the official online gallery of wildlife artist Cliff Rossberg. This website showcases a complete collection of artwork including available new original works and limited edition reproductions.  We have also included an online gallery of paintings that are in private collections.  The events button will showcase Cliff’s schedule.  A new addition to the site is Cliff notes, which will give you a glimpse of Cliff beyond the paintbrush.

Our gallery features the art images of Cliff Rossberg.  His medium of choice is oil and he paints primarily North American Wildlife.  You will also find images of songbirds, various trout species, and landscapes.   Cliff is an avid outdoor photographer and spends several weeks a year photographing wildlife in their natural settings.  Firsthand observation allows him to more accurately convey the social interactions and personalities these wild creatures display.

Cliff lives 9 miles south of Great Falls, Montana with his studio and home located along the Missouri River.  “ I cant imagine living anywhere else with what I do.  We’re on the edge of two worlds, the mountains and the plains.”  Many of his images are inspired in his backyard and many are re-creations of scenes witnessed outdoors.

For Cliff Rossberg, art has served as a vehicle for a unique journey.  His artistic expressions began at a young age in the form of pencil drawings.    Thanks to a supportive mother he attended several sessions of oil painting classes and from that point he was hooked.  Although those first paintings were loosely painted impressions of animals and landscapes, it served as the beginning for a career as a professional artist.  Throughout his career, Cliff has experimented with several mediums and styles but still prefers oils.   Today Cliff’s artistic goals are not to paint a mere photograph but to give the subject life and allow the viewer to fill in the details.   Authenticating nature is no small task, but with each new painting Cliff gets closer to that goal.  His goals are never to peak as an artist and to always be pushing himself to produce better works.  Both wildlife and nature are so diverse that Cliff believes he will paint a lifetime without running out of ideas.
