                                                        Concept to Completion

  Over the years I am always asked how I  produce a painting.   I typically do several thumbnail ( 3 x 5) inch rough renderings of an idea I have in my head or something I have seen in the field.  I then stretch a canvas to the appropriate size, tone the canvas with a burnt sienna mix and start drawing the idea out.  I photographed this painting on the easel as It progressed. ( not great photos but you  should get the jest)
