The Road to KAEA
Cima Katz will be gracing our conference with a wonderful lecture on her vast array of work as part of our breakfast Artist Series panel. Though primarily a printmaker, Ms. Katz work recently includes a great deal of mixed media digital and physical collage. She received her early training in metropolitan New York, followed by a BFA in 1971 from Carnegie Mellon and finally her MFA in 1974 from Indiana University. She is currently on the faculty of the University of Kansas teaching drawing, digital media and special topics courses. Additionally, Katz has been a visiting artist to several well-known art institutions from Arrowmont to the University of Nebraska to Edinburgh College of Art. She is known nationally and internationally with work in the National Museum of American Art in Washington DC, the Bibliotheque National de France, the Chicago Art Institute, and Aberdeen Art Gallery in Aberdeen, Scotland. Her work can also be seen in print in books such as 40 Contemporary American Printmakers published by Jilin Fine Arts. We are honored to have her agree to be part of our conference and look forward to hearing what she has to say. To find out more about Cima Katz, click on her picture to visit her faculty webpage.
