The enigma that is Cuba

On my second day in Cuba, on assignment for Global TV, I did the unspeakable: in a public square, outside my hotel, I interviewed a man, in broken Spanish, on the subject of politics. He was promptly visited by police, and I was put on notice by the foreign affairs ministry. It was a timely reminder that once you leave the beach, Castro’s Cuba is a place where one must step carefully.
