My studies have included a BA in Fine Art from St. Olaf College where I studied under John Maakestad, studies at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) where I studied pastel landscapes, monoprints, black & white photography, watercolors under Georgiana Kettler, color photography under Linda Gammel and painting under Jaime L.Dean. I am deeply indebted to the all wonderful and patient teachers who have prodded and encouraged me.
Through the U of M Split Rock Arts Program I enjoyed a week of All-Art-All-the-Time taught by the highly respected teachers, Sally Brown and Sally Nystrom. Sally Brown has been a practicing Buddhist for 40 years and it shows. She has a bright aura and the two Sallys created an environment of loving kindness.

I’ve been pleased to have shown my work in juried shows, juried art fairs, one woman shows and group shows in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Recent shows include one woman shows at Thrivent’s Corporate Headquarters in Minneapolis, St. Barnabas Center for the Arts in Plymouth, Minnetonka Lutheran Church and in group shows at the Holzemer Gallery in Minneapolis, the Robin Gallery in Robinsdale, Unity Unitarian Church in St. Paul, Duluth Art Institute, the Hopkins Center for the for Arts, Hjemkomst of Moorhead and Norsk Høstfest, where I won a blue ribbon for craftsmanship.

My work is in private collections in Chicago, Dallas, Minnetonka, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC, Norway, Minneapolis and St. Paul.

For this year’s Focus on Finland, I made a Kantela inspired by verses in the Kalevala, Finland’s epic saga

Dorothy, in a Hallingdal “everyday” bunad visited and posed with me

Norway Day in San Francisco was great fun and the Bride was kind enough to come o my booth and pose with a card of “The Betrothed”

Ran, the Sea Goddess Tempting Viking Lads was a big it and I ran out of every card and bookmark of this image.
