Penny Leistiko and Anne Clark were right... of course. There were no bad choices in Greece. They meant, of course, on destinations before and after the kayaking portion of everyone’s travels on our 2006 Greek Isles Inn to Inn Tour.
Michele and I were not so sure. We were strapping on crampons and unleashing our ice axes from backpacks. It was unsettling that we were wearing every stitch of clothing we had in our packs... except the shorts and sun hat. There was snow, groupel, ice, wind and fog that reminded us of skiing on Big Mountain in Whitefish on a bad day. The promise of a heated refuge kept us going.
