Upholstery 101
I felt ambitious this weekend. As you know, I had nothing else to do, so I decided to give upholstery a shot! When I found this chair at a local thrift store I thought it may have potential. Until I thought of how it would look covered in Moda’s 54” RED polka dot fabric and I knew it had to be mine. (Thank you Moda!!!) The fabric arrived on Friday night and I stayed up... a little later than I had planned and got to wake up to this pretty sight on Saturday morning.
Before Friday I had knew absolutely nothing about upholstering. I’d never so much as upholstered a piano bench or seat cushion. Well, a google search and a trip to Joann’s later, here she is in all her glory (can you tell I’m proud?):
Since I learned a lot while tackling this project, I thought I would share the most valuable information I learned in my first attempt at upholstery:
A tetanus shot, that is. This is the part I could have done without. ;-)
Well, now that I’m covered for 10 years, I’m off to find an ottoman!
Oh, and don’t worry, I’ve got TWO whole boxes packed...
