December 2007
Throughout December Green Hammer Construction continued to close up the house and prepare the second story for siding. The framing for the East deck was started and the North balcony was completely enclosed. The house was wrapped with Tyvek, a patented material that increases air flow and water resistance. Because it is water resistant yet breathable Tyvek protects against water and moisture intrusion and is commonly used under many siding materials.
The future position of all of the electrical outlets and wires was painted on the Durisol walls so the Green Hammer crew could channel it out for Jason Sandeaux of M & M Electrical Services LLC. Aside from a few areas where false ceilings will be dry walled, Jason has few places to hide wires as most of the home’s ceilings are exposed timber framing. As with the plumbing, which was completely roughed in by the end of December, the electrical work was not straightforward due to the uniqueness of our home’s materials.
