GCC Model United Nations

Model United Nations is a simulation of the real United Nations in which students represent countries and work to resolve current world issues.  Issues range from finding peaceful solutions to conflicts to reducing child labor to increasing access to health care.  Each year, GCC Model United Nations attends conferences in order to give students an opportunity to work with other college students from across the United States on finding solutions to today's problems.  Through the generous support of the college, we will be able to attend conferences again during the 2009-2010 school year.

Additionally, Political Science 108- Politics and Practices of the United Nations will be offered during the fall.  This class will cover the UN from a historical perspective and an examination of its current issues and how it deals with them.  Most importantly, students will have the opportunity to participate in at least one conference during the  fall semester.   To receive credit for attending the conference you can enroll in Political Science 112- lab.  Enroll now!

You will find links to possible conferences below as well as links to the United Nations' website and an educational site on MUN.  If you would like to participate in GCCMUN or learn more about the program, email Cameron Hastings (hastings@glendale.edu).
