Capoeira originated in Brazil and is a dynamic expression of Afro-Brazilian culture. It is an art form that encompasses martial arts, dance, and acrobatic movements as well as its own philosophy, history, culture, music, and songs. Modern/Contemporary Dance Technique 3:00- 4:25 pm
Our Modern/Contemporary Dance class is taught by rotating Core Members of CMD who will present a variety of styles and techniques. This class is primarily Intermediate but is open to any mover who is willing to be challenged! Wear comfortable clothes that do not hinder movement- no shoes necessary.
Improvisation 4:30 - 6:00 pm
Our Improv Classes vary each week with a different Core Member to facilitate and to bring a new focus or set of improvisational structures. No dance experience is necessary- only the desire to move! Wear comfortable clothes that do not hinder movement- no shoes necessary.
Thursdays
Capoeira 6:00 - 7:00 pm
This class is an hour of student-led training and review of Capoeira skills and exercises. Come prepared to sweat!
