Rockethead is his new nickname...Amazing as it seems, people can actually recover from grave condition (thanks, Matt, for letting me know that).  We try very hard to keep a healthy, although sometimes bizarre, sense of humor about this incredible journey because it really helps.

This little site isn’t much, but I’m trying to record Derrick’s progress from 30 April 2007--when a rocket attack on the Green Zone in Baghdad left Derrick and several of his colleagues wounded--until...well, who knows. He’s absolutely amazing, and I know that one day soon he will be back to doing the things he really loves.

In the meantime, he has to put up with me 24-7, attend all sorts of therapy every day, and just be the passenger when we all know he would rather be driving--literally and figuratively.
