As the counselor at the Pacers Academy, being a part of the CILC Program fit right in to the career skills I work with my 7th and 8th graders on.  Throughout this program, my students have had various special activities involving field trips to IUPUI and the Career and Technology Center at Tech High School.  They also had the pleasure of listening to several guest speakers talk about their careers.  I was able to watch my students go from simply stating what career choice they selected to actually delving into the intricate details regarding salary expectations as well as the education and training necessary.  They found all kinds of interesting facts surrounding their selected careers.  One student found a salary calculator which estimated income directly relating to which part of the country they wanted to live in.  Others discovered that their selected career would not allow them to live as comfortably as they had planned, so they changed careers. The CILC Program and Bev were very beneficial to us!
