PLEASE NOTE: Select Diet is NOT included in Thistle Dew’s Own Mix. It is a semi moist food that should not be mixed and stored in the same container with any dry foods (it can cause it to mold). It CAN be mixed with the dry food when fed to your hedgehogs (when exposed to air and eaten quickly, it will not cause any problems). Here at Thistle Dew Hedgehogs and Tenrecs I mix 3 dry to 1 semi-moist food per serving for best results.

BABIES:
Hedgehog and tenrec babies are occasionally available for sale.
Please contact me at the above email address or phone number.
I normally DO NOT ship since prices are extreme. But if you are
willing to go to the expense to have a hedgehog or tenrec shipped
we can discuss it, as long as you are in a state where the animal is
not considered illegal to own. Please check with your local laws
and ordinances regarding these animals.
For most purposes, I am now retired from breeding but may have
an occasional litter as I want to keep a few of my top lines going.

VET LIST
Over several years I have compiled (and continue to) a listing
of vets who see hedgehogs and exotic animals. I use to
maintain the list and give out the information through email
requests. Since those (good old days) I have been approached
by two outstanding websites to share my list to make it available
to a wider audience. My list can now be found at:
These are probably the most extensive hedgehog vet lists available.
Both have the vets listed by state or provence (some by country)
Always check BOTH lists. Each have individual webmasters
who often add other vets as they come upon them by members
of their groups, so some entries may vary and you may find a
vet located closer to you. ALWAYS call and ask if they still see
hedgehogs. Original advertisements may state they see
hedgehogs, but a vet on staff that specialized in them may no
longer be available. Be sure to inquire. By Rubber
