Acoustic
Rosie
This song is named after our little Cockatiel that flew away one day. I hope she found her way back to Australia to visit my friend Graeme.

Parsley
I don’t think I ever played this on the show. I also think I did this for Sage of Quirky Nomads one time. It was just a sloppy
quickie. Kind of pretty though.

Pipeline
An acoustic version of the same by the Ventures.

Getting On
I can’t remember what inspired this... oh yeah I needed a song for the show. This is another one where I pretty much sat down and barfed it out. Well maybe after ten or so takes. Still lots of mistakes, but I don’t mind if you don’t.

My Love
I was pretty emotional when I did this. It’s really about feelings more than anything, Though my son and my little girl were on my mind a lot at the time, as they usually are. It was right at the surface on that day.

Webby
A song for a very kind woman with a very hard life. It’s about just keepin’ on.

Flirty Bird
I woke up one Sunday morning in June and as I lay there I could hear the sounds of the frantic birds down at the base of the building desperately trying to mate with each other, and stirring up a real racket. Rather than being cheerful it struck me as a struggle for a fleeting chance to mate. I got up and recorded this without thinking much. Style: acoustic

Black
Some sloppy multitrack noodling on the acoustic. I recorded this a few days before I did the podcast it was featured on #73 and I guess I was a bit moody.

Moody Instrumentals
Prise De Stereo
I think this means Stereo Plug. Just saw it on a ripped package for my new dual stereo jack I got from Radio Shack. I was in a peaceful mood when I did this, and I think it goes on a bit too long, but sometimes you get in a zone. Style: Instrumental Piano and Bass Jazzy soft

Under
Dedicated to a shrieking monkey toy. Mostly soft plucky guitars and this one goes on WAY too long. But I like it. There are I think five tracks of guitars on this, and a little keyboard in the middle. Bugs me that the B string was slightly out of tune. Style: Instrumental with clean electric guitar

Dip
Feeling moody I took a walk through downtown Mississauga one night and recorded the sounds. The music on top was just how I was feeling at the time. Sometimes traffic sounds at night give me some comfort.

Wondermint
This one is just bad. I was feeling like an elevator. The ironic thing is my elevator is very noisy.

Head Space
Sometimes making music just creates a zone in your brain. I still feel that same way when I listen to this. Sometimes I like to sneak in some very faint singing to my songs so you can barely tell. I think there’s some of that in this. The clicking at the end is me tapping my beer can with a coin using an insanely long reverb.

The Long Drag
This song was another time where I just got into this zone of nothing but the wah peddle and my Wolfgang (electric guitar). I think it got a bit long because you lose track of time. The long drag? Hmmmm what could that mean... yeah well I was actually thinking about my daily commute.

Robin
A bit of a beat and some moody, bass keys. I named this song after Robin the sexy receptionist from “The Apprentice” with Donald Trump. Also my alarm clock.

Strange Things
I love how when you stumble on a weird melody it can carry a whole song. There are a few in this tune. It’s not really about anything, but I did feel like I was being transported somewhere while making this tune. I remember feeling like time was a big focus for this one. The high hat sounds like a ticking clock. Or a time bomb.

Birth Mode
I was watching a sci-fi movie where in the end the universe was controlled by very kind and brilliant machines. I was thinking about that when I did this one. It’s one of my first Garageband Songs and an older fave of mine.

7777777
I love Brian Eno. This was just my attempt to get a similar feeling where the song just transports you to a calmer place. Sounds like the soundtrack to a movie about Jupiter or something.

Water Song
There are these songs out there that feature African Water Drums. I love the sound of them. This is my version only I’m splooshing around in the bathtub.

Down The Drain
Some heavy emotions here. Mostly regret.

Loud Guitar Stuff
More Town
This was just a reason to do some crazy wah peddle guitar soloing. I think the drums were canned. I had fun. Style: Funky upbeat sorta thing

Funkbrella
I think this was done in a hurry when I had no music to put on the show. I ended up having a lot of fun soloing EVH style over some impromptu funk rhythms and slap bass. Yes I slap my bass.

Bock Bock I’m a Chicken
This song was inspired by a song Gary and I did together as kids by the same name. Actually it was really called “Gently Swaying in the Breeze” but that title was forgotten really. A combination of Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Joe Walsh, AC/DC and Van Halen (we wish), this remake has seen a lot of podplay and I guess the kids like it. Not sure why...

Bock Backup
Thought I’d throw this on here. It’s the music from “Bock Bock I’m A Chicken” without any vocals. Maybe you’d like to try your hand at Bock Bock I’m a Chicken Karaoke.

Blue Toe
This one was just an excuse to play some heavy blues. If you crank it really loud it doesn’t sound that bad.

In The Air
This one was just built around a neat riff I was messing with on the guitar. It sounds like a whole bunch of songs, like “Unbelievable”, “For those about to rock” and something by Abba I think. The female voice in this song is me with effects. Ew.

Metallicreek
I don’t know what I was thinking here. Sounds good cranked though.

Whack
It’s just noisy guitar hell. Crank it!

Trigga
Again it’s just loud and obnoxious. Crank this too!

Move
As in “out of the way” because I want to play my guitar along with a freaky bass and some kick ass drum loops.

With a Beat
Long Thong
Just some noodling around over a beat. Sometimes I have the patience to create original drum tracks, and I think that was the case here. As I listen I realize this one is a really really long thong.

YAE
Some catchy beats and synth mixed with a little nylon stringed noodling.

Sappira
A song inspired by our Dark Speed skits and a sexy green alien.

Cheese Grater
I really hate this song. I have no idea why I did it, nor why I’m putting it on here.

Not Sorry
I was mad at somebody and named this because I wasn’t sorry even though I said I was, and even though the song has nothing to do with what I was mad about.

Flowvalescence
Just a bit of a groove.

Marnie
This sounds a bit like a bunch of atomic chickens in a bar fight, but it has its moments.

Experimental
Landing
It’s hard to say exactly what this song is about, but it has a neat flow to it. Gary says he likes this one.

Piles Of Change
This song led me to meet my good friend Marvin Suicide. He played it on (his) show 20 or so. It was bothering me how much change was piling up all over the house, and how ironic complaining about it was.

G5 Jive
A very long instrumental wank.

Wake
This is an odd piece. I never played it on the show because I thought it was a bit depressing. I was in the middle of splitting up with my ex so that’s probably why it’s a bit morbid. Interesting to hear now that it’s almost two years ago.

Gronk’s Place
This one is inspired by the band Infected Mushroom. That high pitched voice talked in the background is Gary.

Iono What To Say
Lyrics were never my strong point. Some funky keys, guitars and stuff.

Cover Songs and Spoofs
Chub Inc.
A spoof of the Gorillaz’ “Love Inc.” using the Chub Creek lyrics.

Always On The Rum
Not really a spoof so much as a really bad cover of a great song. It was fun to do though. I really just wanted to try Slash’s solo and yell horribly into the mic.

Don’t Fear The Dinker
A spoof of the Blue Oyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper.” using the Chub Creek lyrics.

Dinky Cars
A spoof of the something by the Cars using the Chub Creek lyrics.

Dink Panther (cover of Pink Panther by Henri Mancini)
Dad and I always played this tune together. I’d love to record dad and I playing this, but for now, here’s a version where I had some fun with the tempo and soloing. Style: Jazz

Panamaybe (acoustic cover)
How I love Eddie Van Halen. This is my favourite song of all time, done sloppily on the acoustic. Eddie please don’t sue me. Hell even if you did it’d almost be worth it.

Apache
A cover of “Apache” by the Ventures.

Midnight Hour (with Nicole Cardi)
A cover of “Midnight Hour” by the Commitments. Nicole Cardi lent me her beautiful voice for backup if you can believe that. I’m only including this song because I’m so amazed she agreed to sing on this for me.

Dee
A cover of the same name by Randy Rhoads. First time I’ve recorded it without screwing up (much).

Songs with Gary and Dave
Folsom Prison Retirement Home Blues
Gary and I did this after consuming about four tons of hot wings and a 24 pack of beer.

See How I am (Chub Creek Anthem)
Gary stumbled over his words during episode 14 of Chub Creek. I made a song out of it. Part of this is a spoof of Yello’s “Oh Yeah”. This was a lot of fun to do.

Chub Creek Theme Song (intro)
This is the thingy we play at the beginning of the show. I have no idea why anybody would want it, but we’re very partial to this tune, so here it is.

Marvin Suicide
A song Gary and I did over a few beers. It’s about our pal Marvin. It’s a bit strange, but so is he.

Flags
A really neat tune Gary and I worked on together. We did it around when Hurricane Katrina hit.

Rubber Boot
It’s about a rubber boot on the road. Sing along!

Cow
A touching love song.

Theme Songs
Chub Creek Theme Song (intro)
This is the thingy we play at the beginning of the show. I have no idea why anybody would want it, but we’re very partial to this tune, so here it is.

Chub Creek Theme Song (Outtro)
This is the thingy we play at the end of the show. Once again, I have no idea why anybody would want it, but here it is.

Dark Speed Theme
This is the theme to our sci-fi spoof “Dark Speed” starring all our listeners. Sometimes it’s even funny.

Dark Speed Theme (instrumental only)
The theme to Dark Speed but for the outtro at the end of the show.

Dark Speed March
When things on the Starship Dark Speed get too confusing, this is the song that makes everything normal again.

Dark Speed Suspense Music
When the action get too confusing, this is the song that makes everything normal again. Used on Dark Speed.

Crazy Cop Theme
Theme song for Crazy Cop, a detective adventure featuring nonsense spouting Special Detective Randy Coffee and hard as nails Detective Joe Grant. Mattress! Broccoli!

Crazy Cop Action Music
When the bad guys come, so does this song. Barbecue!

Crazy Cop Segue Music
I use this to move to a new scene in Crazy Cop. Vanilla!

Koos Van Den Hout Theme
The theme song for Koos’ excellent Dutch language lesson segment on Chub Creek. Koos Van Den Hout!

Theme from Island Podcasting with Ted Reicken (Look up)
This has been through a few versions, this being the last. Ted later added some more seagulls and stuff. You can visit his podcast here. I made this up at the music store when I was trying to decide what guitar to buy. I bought this one.

Theme from Shakespeare Souffle (Come on In)
I kept singing this until words made sense. This was one of my first attempts at singing, as you can probably tell. Not even the guitar is in tune. But they loved it, and we loved them. They don’t podcast anymore, but you can still find them if you google.

Theme from Knit 2B Tied
This was something I could see completely in my head before I began. A show about knitting by a Texan gal. I just had to sound like this. You can find April’s show here.

Bitterest Pill Theme (Take a Pill)
I think Dan used this for about five seconds, but it was fun. I still like it.

Wanda
One of two theme songs I did for Wanda Wisdom.

Wanda (2nd version)
One of two theme songs I did for Wanda Wisdom.

Turtle Tracks
Okay this isn’t a real theme song. Apologies to the show. This fake theme song made Gary and I laugh so hard we recorded ourselves laughing. (neither of us knew the other was recording himself laugh at the same thing)

Ed and Ethel (I thought there were more..)
Ed Wanna Be a Cowboy
A spoof of “I Wanna Be a Cowboy” by Boys Don’t Cry. Remember them? Me neither. I remember the song though. This is E&E’s version.

Tainted Ed
A spoof of “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell. Ed and Ethel style.

Chub Shack
A spoof of “Love Shack” by The B52’s. Ed and Ethel style.

Turn Off The Radio
A cover by Ed and Ethel of “Turn Up the Radio” by Autograph

Ridiculous
Robot Booty
These lyrics came to me direct from Texas. April of Knit2BTied can take all the credit (blame)

I walked through (a fart)
This song actually had a serious premise to it. Walking through a fart was my metaphor for all the pain and angst men put themselves through for love. I wish somebody would do a version of this who can really sing.

Sounds of Porn
Why do porno soundtracks always sound like this?

Have You Ever Had A Boil
Well have you?

Oro World’s Fair Blues
A little ditty about the most exciting annual event in Oro township

1992 Honda Civic Won’t Pass the Emissions Test Blues
A true story. Sung by old Bud.

Sing a Song
Bad singing, good intentions. The defense rests. (warning: we say fuck a few times in this)

Randy
Something I put together because Gary was sick of hearing this guy’s name.

Gary Has Big Nipples
He doesn’t really. Well actually I have no idea, but I was getting him for something he said on the show. You’ll have to go listen to find out.

Chub My Creek
A cover of “Suck My Kiss” by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but with stupid lyrics and a guest performance by Jake and Chris from Just Not Right.

Seasonal
Dinkle Bells
A holiday collaboration featuring Dave and Gary from Chub Creek, Mr. Zeeche, Redford Phyllis, Brenda Dane of Cast-on.com, CrittendenIV, Todd from QuirkyNomads.com, and Bruce Murray from Zedcast.com

Skeddy
Why did I call it this? Because it’s skeddy, veddy skeddy. A Halloween tribal, funk thing. Well actually I had just bought a blues harp and I wanted to try it out. I have no idea how to play one as you can hear.

Which Doctor
I don’t know who did this first, but here’s our version. Thanks to Erica from the Tipsy Chicks for the intro.

Patricia
A Mother’s Day song for my mommy. Probably the worst vocal I’ve ever done, but the thought counts.

Stuff from Yeast Radio
Back when I had a bit more time I used to send these love songs to Yeast Radio. Actually I did a lot more songs for Yeast than these, but here are the least painful ones. The song featuring Nicole Cardi is breathtaking. She’s a fantastic singer. A general crude language warning here. It is for Yeast Radio after all.

It’s Madge
An overly sweet instrumental version of Yeast Radio’s Theme song done on acoustic.

Wicked Bloat
A spoof of Chris Isaac’s song “Wicked Game” as heard on Madge Weinstein’s Yeast Radio.

She Will Bloat
A spoof of Maroon 5’s song “She Will Be Loved” as heard on Madge Weinstein’s Yeast Radio.

Bloated Lesbian
A spoof of Nas’s song “Got Yourself a Gun” as heard on Madge Weinstein’s Yeast Radio.

Yeast Beast
Just some stream of consciousness Yeast funk. As heard on Madge Weinstein’s Yeast Radio.

Clean Your Rear
An excuse to sing “I wish you were here” by Pink Floyd and to finally learn to play it properly... sort of.

Your Body I Don’t Understand
An excuse to sing “Your Body is a Wonderland” by John Mayer and to finally learn to play it properly... sort of.

I’ve Never Loved a Lesbian (featuring Nicole Cardi)
A spoof of Aretha Franklyn’s song “I’ve Never Loved a Man” as heard on Madge Weinstein’s Yeast Radio. The sultry vocal stylings of Nicole Cardi almost mask the crude lyrics. The background arrangements and vocal effects are yours truly.

Hi There. Here is most of my music. On a Mac, Option-Click on a song title to download. On a PC, right-click I think. I’m sure you’re better at this than me. Have fun!
