Christ United Methodist Church sent 17 dedicated people to serve our “Sister Church,” Canaan United Methodist Church, in Eseka, Cameroon, West Africa in February 2008.  The seventeen enthusiastic members of CUMC called to serve in Africa were: Kirk Arnold, Nancye Ashley, Skip and Janet Bilhartz, Rev. Marji Bishir, our leader Laura Glaister, Rev. Milton Guittieriez, Dr. Paul and Sally Hurd, Bill and Susan Jackson, Brian Lacy, Jennie LeClaire, Rev. Bart Smith,  Drs. Mindy and Joe Surdaki and Connie Veazey. 

Our goal was to provide vision tests and distribute glasses donated by the Lions’ Club and private donations; provide life saving treated malaria nets; serve the church by offering Sunday School lessons to the children; have sing a-longs; and simply provide our Christian love and hospitality.
