Sorry for the long silence...it’s been a crazy few months. Lots to report this time, starting with the just-released Iron Man movie DVD, which--if you get the Wal-Mart exclusive edition--contains a comic book insert written by me and illustrated by Hugo Petrus, available nowhere else! See the events of the Iron Man film from the perspective of Nick Fury...and get a couple of fun Easter Eggs in the process, like learning how Iron Man solved his armor’s “icing problem” plus further information on that blink-and-you-missed-it appearance of Captain America’s shield in Tony Stark’s workshop! You can order it by clicking here.
As for new project announcements, the big news has been the four-issue X-Men/Spider-Man miniseries, for which I’ll team up with Italian art sensation Mario Alberti for his first U.S. interior work! Each issue tells of a previously unrevealed meeting between Spider-Man and the X-Men at various points in Marvel history, from the Silver Age to the present day, with a through-line that ties them all together. This has been tremendous fun to work on, and it’s just a beautiful book, so I hope you’ll check it out! For more information, click here to read the Newsarama interview.
Finally, you may have heard that I’ll taking over as the solo writer of Avengers: The Initiative with issue #21, as Dan Slott moves on to write Mighty Avengers. If you’ve been enjoying the book up until now, don’t worry--I plan to stick with the plotlines Dan and I had already worked out for the near future. Big things are coming in this book...you won’t want to miss it!
Thanks and I hope you have a terrific fall season. If you’re going to be at Wizard World Texas in November, so will I...stop by and say hello!
