The night was dry and thundery. It all takes place in a seedy part of town at the dilapidated hideaway of Uncle Larry in Hugh Burruss' offbeat dramedy/mystery short entitled, “Insecurity.” Lives are pseudo-tested to the max in this clash among heroes and villains coming 'strapped' to a night filled with a quirky cacophony of thunderclaps and crackling tasers. In an hilarious tale, two security guards from opposite worlds are caught in the middle of a mistaken murder mystery. As tensions reach crescendo, mystery unravels into a race between nephews plotting to grab their dying uncle’s fortune. The story opens with nephew Boss, owner of a security agency (played by Mark Joy) charging his bumbling security guard, Lyle, with something so simple that, as sidekick Piston puts it, "any backwoods idiot could've done it.” But, Lyle cannot see past bizarre obsessions with job, a mystery lady and playing lotto to buy a romantic gift. Piston, a washed-up pro-baller who has taken a security job to make ends meet, joins Lyle at Uncle Larry's to embark upon the comical interplay with his newfound sidekick. Together, they misread their assignment as one of guarding a man named 'Will' instead of guarding Uncle Larry's 'will.' The film interweaves quirky comedy aimed at an under-35 male audience, engaging cinematography and a spooky score. "INsecurity" features all-star performances led by Mark Joy from supporting roles in John Waters’ “Pecker” and “Cecil B. Demented' and Ben Affleck’s 'Dogma.”
