La Roche is home to 12,000 inhabitants. Listed among the “Prettiest Detours in France", its old town dates back to the middle ages and is ranked as the 2nd Historical City in Haute Savoie. It is also an international town, just 30 minutes from Geneva International Airport, with an exhibition centre that hosts the International Mont Blanc Fair and the International Machine Tool Tradeshow. La Roche is twinned with towns in Germany and Italy.
La Roche sur Foron is a small town with strong traditions, open to the world and to the future. The town centre is thriving and dynamic thanks to innovative policies in terms of development, traffic and the community.
The Bluegrass Music Festival came to La Roche sur Foron as a result of a chance encouter, shared convictions and plenty of enthusiasm. The town immediately adopted Bluegrass and the musicians, who in turn fell in love with the town. Much to the delight of the festival-going public.
