Eadweard Muybridge, born 1830 in England, was an early pioneer of photography. He was the first to capture the movement of a horse in full gallop and went on to produce many photographic studies of animals and people in motion. So that the public could see realistic movement, he invented the Zoopraxiscope to project his photographs - an early form of motion pictures. Today many animators and artists still use his work as reference.
This short movie brings some of his images to life.
