RACING TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AUTISM RESEARCH
COURSE The race starts from 34th Street Beach and will proceed South to just past 49th Street. The Turnaround point will be marked with cones. Participants will then return North to 34th Street Beach. The entire run will be on the hard sand at low tide. There will be one Water Station serving both Gatorade and Water. Participants will pass the Water Station twice. The race will be professionally timed by L&M Computer Sports. Those participants who finish under 40 minutes will be timed and eligible for awards. This will allow the awards ceremony to be held promptly at 9:00 a.m. while allowing the walkers to finish the Race un-rushed.     AWARDS T-Shirts will be issued to the first 300 registered participants. Trophies will be awarded for the Overall Male and Female First Place Finishers. Male and Female first, second, and third place age group finishers will be awarded medals in the following age group divisions: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and above. All children 10 years and under will receive a Finisher Medal.   PROCEEDS All proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to increasing awareness about the growing autism health crisis and raising funds for critical autism research. Autism Speaks is committed to aggressively funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and a cure for autism; raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of the disorder.
