We all know dogs are smart. They can be trained to do amazing things--help the blind, assist with search and rescue, and even predict seizures in humans before they occur. Are some dogs really smarter than others? And does it really matter? I give my all of my dogs an A+ for their unconditional love. Of course in my highly opinionated opinion, I also think all my canine pals over the years were very smart. I’m certain one of our pups received her Canine Good Citizen award because of her talents and not mine. So can you test your dog’s IQ? Veterinarian Dr. Debbye Turner on The Early Show at CBS.com shows how a new IQ test for dogs called the Pooch IQ Kit works. (You can watch the CBS segment in the widget below.) Available online for $49.99, the Pooch IQ Kit includes a testing booklet with 15 exercises, a scoring key, detailed IQ explanations, dog toys and puzzles; several challenging props. I’m not sure how scientific this IQ test is, but it sounds fun. And isn’t sharing some canine bonding time what makes living with your dog special.
