Welcome to the official website for Jazz Futures: A Musical Journey!  The Chris Byars Quartet and 18 Cypriot musicians are poised to begin an ongoing collaboration that will explore the great traditions of jazz. 

Jazz originated in the United States, but it is one of the most inclusive musical forms that exists today.  It provides a way to build connections with others and discover our individual voices.  With jazz, we can all make music together!

This site offers individual pages for each Chris Byars Quartet musician, with a space dedicated to ongoing musical discussions.  There are resource pages that show you our recommendations for listening to jazz, conceptual theories, and advice on instrumental technique.  Also, there is a section dedicated to our concerts that are taking place throughout the island in June 2008.  Please follow our progress as we begin this exciting, innovative international project!
