I’m reading through the Bible, and have gotten into the book of Numbers. Even though some of the Old Testament can seem a little monotonous at times, it is still “chock full” of God’s holiness. Reading it gets me excited as I think about awesome God!
Today I read Numbers 11 - WOW, what a chapter! It’s the chapter where the Israelites are in the wilderness, but they complain that they don’t have any meat to eat; they even refer to how good they had it in Egypt. Check out some of the verses that stood out to me:
v.11 - Moses questions the ministry in which the Lord has placed him, and in verse 14, he confesses that he cannot do it all himself. Isn’t that how we can all feel sometimes, and yet the truth is that we CANNOT do it ourselves. Ministry is not for us to do in our own strength, but in God’s strength. In verses 16-17, God provides help for Moses.
v.18 - The Lord answers the cries of the people, but there’s also a consequence because of their grumbling (v. 19-20, 33,34).
v.23 - I love this verse - I’m going to write it out and post it on our refrigerator: “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Is the Lord’s power limited?’”
v.29 - Moses makes a declaration saying he wishes the Lord would put His Spirit on all the Lord’s people. It’s SO EXCITING because in this age, the Lord HAS put the Spirit within His people!!!!!!
