CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!!!!
O’Shea’s Upsets HC United to Claim MetrosoccerNY’s Class ‘A’ Coed Title
New York, NY - The O’Shea’s Candies Peanut Butter Cups may have worn their shamrock green uniforms, but they didn’t need the luck of the Irish in their 5-0 victory on a cold and wet Monday evening. The Cups were dominant once again and controlled possession for the majority of the match. The New York Times had only 5 shots on target the entire match as the PB Cups won their second straight game and enter their bye week sitting in first place due to their +16 goal differential.
Kevin Lundgren had a stellar performance on the field scoring a hat trick to bring his season goal total to a team leading 7 and more impressively, spent the second half in the net to preserve the Peanut Butter Cup shut out. Former RPI standouts, Chris Baker and Chris Albert each tallied one for O’Shea’s to cap off another impressive performance for the Irish candy company. When asked about the teams offensive explosion this season, Coach Chris Albert stated, “We’ve always been an offensive minded team since day one but this year’s been a little different. I have to give some credit to our friends at Adidas for developing an amazing new cleat in the Predator Power Pulse FG, I can’t believe I am saying it, but its gotta be the shoes!”
Can a pair of cleats really improve a team’s performance? Leading scorer Kevin Lundgren, who also wears the Predator Power Pulse FG’s (in a less flashy black than Coach Albert’s shining Navy and gold) commented during the post game press conference outside of the Houston Street subway station, “You see how hard I am hitting the ball this year. What do you think is adding the power, HGH? I’m all natural and so are my boots. You have a problem with the new shoes, then how about you step in the net and I start firing rockets right up your candy @$$, and you’ll see its all the shoes!” Surprising comments from Lundgren, a normally relaxed player who is captain of O’Shea’s surfing franchise in Montauk, NY but it’s likely due to the PB Cups new attitude towards matches this year which upper management hopes will result in another league championship.
