John Lambie
Trevor Clapp
Trevor gained his masters in architecture at Leicester after a training in design technology. Following a spell with DEGW and Shepphard Robson he set up foundation in 1999 with fellow PKS architects John Lambie and Dan Wright.
Trevor fronts the planning side of the practice negotiating many of the significant permissions that you see on the following pages.
He is a local Parish Councillor, sits on Camden’s planning user panel and is a helicopter pilot.
When not working on buildings (he self built his home studio) you will find him using his practical skills in the garage creating custom cars, motorcycles and furniture.
Howard Jones
Howard studied architecture at De Montfort University but also spent 6 months studying at Ferrarra University in Italy. Before joining Foundation Architecture in 2000, Howard worked with TP Bennett where he was responsible for several large scale projects such as an £8million 300 room Halls of Residence in Southwark, London, the £15million HQ of Microsoft in Reading and the fit-out of the internet banking company, Fiserv's HQ in Stockley Park
Since joining Foundation Architecture Howard has headed up several large schemes in central London including 140 Old Street and has become somewhat of an expert in conservation architecture having run several high profile refurbishments of Listed Buildings in Kensington, Notting Hill and Bloomsbury.
Ian Harvey
Ian studied Architecture at The University of East London, completing his Post Grad. Diploma at The University of Greenwich. During this time he also worked at Bill Chew Associates, designing Cinemas, Restaurants, Bars and Residential properties. In 1999, he joined the Capita Group working predominately on PFI & private Prisons, Detention Centres, and Staff Training Centres. Ian then spent a year travelling around the world before joining Foundation Architecture in 2004.
At Foundation he has headed up a number of high profile office fit-out projects, including the £11m Centro project, and is now masterminding the works to the grade II listed barns at Moss Lane.
John graduated from the Polytechnic of Central London in 1975. Aside from a brief detour into the world of education (he taught watercolour painting at Kent Institute of Art and Design) he has practiced in the Capital for nearly thirty years, working for some of London's larger firms on a diverse range of building typologies from housing, theatres, offices and shopping centres, to mosques and palaces.
He brings to Foundation a pragmatic approach to design and construction which is based primarily on the Clients' best interests. This has resulted in repeat work from a growing register of property developers and investors.
Daniel Wright
Dan qualified as an Architect from The University of Nottingham in 1998 and has been with Foundation Architecture since its inception in 2000. As Associate Project Architect he has enjoyed working with many central London clients on a range of projects from multi-million Victorian warehouse conversion and new-build commercial building to fit-outs of bar restaurants, nightclubs and domestic flat and housing schemes.
He has also worked at several other practices including RSP (Singapore) and Pollard Thomas Edwards in London and, having recently returned from an extended around-the-world honeymoon, looks forward to contributing to Foundation Architecture’s continued expansion
