Kevin Wanzer - The man behind the message At 8-year-old Kevin Wanzer’s lemonade stand, passersby were treated to two types of refreshment: a cold cup of lemonade and hilarious, dead-on stand-up renditions of Steve Martin and Bill Cosby comedy routines. Decades later, his lemonade stand is still open. The lemonade is long gone, as are the Martin and Cosby routines. The refreshment, however, is still to be had. Speaking to young people in refreshing ways is all Kevin has ever known. As a sophomore in high school, Kevin began a mentoring program where high school student leaders would interact with elementary students, making a difference that empowered them to stay strong and make healthy choices. Kevin also teamed up with then-First Lady Nancy Reagan and her anti-drug efforts and had the privilege of visiting the White House, addressing the United Nations and speaking to countless schools on behalf of Just Say No. Kevin chose Butler University to study television and public speaking. Drug-free his entire life, Kevin helped create a program that supports others who chose to embrace healthy alternatives. During his Junior year at Butler, Kevin worked for “Late Night with David Letterman” at NBC, an experience that helped solidify Kevin’s belief that laughter is the “high” you can say yes to. After graduating with honors, Kevin has spent the last 20 years reaching millions of students in thousands of schools, campuses, and conferences. While in Hawaii, Kevin discovered the mysteries and teaching of the ALOHA spirit and how they are the essential tools all people need in order to live the life they were born to live. He began sharing that message day after day, knowing that the journey will last as long as laughter remains. ALOHA ~ The message behind the man There is an ancient Hawaiian belief that we are all born with a light that shines pure as our life begins. As we grow older, we sometimes allow outside negative influences and behaviors to dim our light until it can be suffocated completely. Kevin’s professional goal is not for his audience to learn anything new but to unlearn those light blocking habits or beliefs they have picked up during their life journey. During his presentation, Kevin will give his audience the tools they need to relive childhood in a fresh way, remembering the simple truth of that time. Having a positive attitude, loving yourself and others unconditionally, overcoming obstacles and maintaining a sense of humor are the basic necessities for people to live the “aloha” spirit and grow up to be a child. Described as “organized chaos,” Kevin’s programs are tailored for each individual audience. They are ideal for young people and any adult audience that play a role in empowering the lives of young people.
