I am an evolutionary biologist and entomologist interested in documenting earth’s biodiversity. The descriptive part of my work involves discovering new species and providing traditional and interactive identification keys. This is done in the context of monographic works (revisions) that are important because they synthesize all relevant information for a particular taxon, including data on taxonomy, biology, behavior and biogeography. The historical part of my research involves understanding the phylogenetic relationships between taxa using morphological and molecular data and examining the evolution of several characters such as sexual structures and color. Additionally, I combine population genetic techniques, genomics and molecular phylogenetics to answer phylogeographic and ecological questions.
