Welcome to the Official Website of the
Midwest EAA Chapters Poker Run
The Midwest EAA Chapters Poker Run is a fun, multi-event series held between the months of May and October. The participating EAA Chapters host an event at their home airport and at those events, Poker Run players get their Poker Run card stamped, verifying their attendance at the event. The more events a player attends, the more cards they’ll be able to draw at the last event of the season which we call “Game Day.” From the cards drawn, the player then makes the best 5-card poker hand and registers the hand with the judge. Cash prizes are awarded to the 6 players who register the top 6 poker hands. First Prize in 2007 paid $250.00!
If the enticement of winning some cash through the poker run gets more people to attend the various EAA Chapter events during the 2008 season, we will have accomplished our goal. We hope you’ll join us. It’s guaranteed to be fun, and each event will offer similar, but unique activities for your whole family. Traveling to the various airports, either by plane or by car, you’ll see some of the most beautiful areas of Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa. Check out the various pages of our website, and use the links we’ve provided to contact the Poker Run Chairman if you’d like to take part. If you wish to play, simply show up at any of the events and get your stamp card to take with you to the other events. A minimum of 3 stamps on your card is required to play on Game Day.
As of the most recent update, we already have 14 chapters participating. We hope to have an event scheduled every weekend to give people the greatest opportunity to participate, so reserve your event’s place on the Poker Run calendar early.
That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. This website is informational in nature and will hopefully answer most, if not all of your questions. If you have an interest in participating either as a player or as a representative of an EAA Chapter who would like to include your chapter’s event in the Poker Run calendar for 2008, send an e-mail to Mike Dean, EAA Chapter 1177 member and 2008 Poker Run Secretary by clicking HERE. Have fun, and may “Lady Luck” be with you on Game Day!
