I have been exploring the use of these technologies for over two years and have noticed something interesting things in my classes regarding the use of blogs and wikis. My students tend to write more and write more thoughtfully. In exploring, using, and creating podcasts, they also tend to be more thoughtful in how they present their ideas and positions on topics. They take the time to think about what they are going to say.

I encourage you to explore blogs, wikis, and podcasting and to discuss with your students how they are using them. Here is the handout, Be eLiterate.pdf, from my session today with notes on how to get started with blogs, wikis, and podcasts. Recommended readings and links are included. Enjoy! Explore!
