Bodenstein Music Scholarship Available
Auditions June 7, 2008   Delaware Valley Arts Alliance offers the annual Bodenstein Music Scholarship in memory of Dr. Barry and Jane Bodenstein, admired community leaders from Jeffersonville, NY. It is open to seniors from the Sullivan West Central School District who wish to continue their music education. Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 7 starting at 10 a.m. Applicants should call for an audition appointment. Applications are available at Delaware Arts Center, 37 Main Street, Narrowsburg, NY 12764. For more information, call (845) 252-7576. Last year an unprecedented three scholarships were awarded. Violinist Laura Berger of Youngsville, NY won the Music Advancement Award of $500, and Noah Barker (piano) of Jeffersonville and Jessica Armstrong (flute), of Livingston Manor won the Music Achievement Award of $300 each. Drum Circle
Donations welcome The Grist Mill hosts a weekly gathering for the purpose of building a conscious artistic community. This will be a participatory event and we are asking people to bring their own drums and noise-makers. Interested parties are also encouraged to bring art supplies to create visual art and poetry to read. Acoustic instruments are welcome as long as they can be integrated into the sound of a drum circle. No snare drums or drum kits, please. This and every Friday

Come find your voice, wield your axe, test some prose, climb the "rubber tree plant".   All are welcome to perform.  After all, the mic is open.
