DIGit Media Arts Exposition,
Quick & Gritty Video Slam
June 15, 2008
Make a 3-minute movie and win $500
Bring your digital cameras, cell phones, and camcorders to Narrowsburg in June and you could take home $500. Delaware Valley Arts Alliance invites video artists of all skill levels to share their digital creations at the Quick & Gritty Video Slam, a competition of 3-minute videos, on Sunday, June 15 at 12 p.m. at Tusten Theatre. The winning video will receive a $500 cash prize.
DIGIT is a digital media exposition, sponsored by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, that encourages creative and technical excellence and experimentation among individual artists and small groups working with digital tools.
Whether you’re inspired to document your DIGIT experience or the people you meet; you have an original scripted story you want to film; or you want to capture the local area from your own particular viewpoint, your thematic and creative choices are limitless. There are, however, a few restrictions: all final pieces must be one to three minutes in length, must have been created entirely during the DIGIT festival, must have been shot in the Hamlet of Narrowsburg, and must be submitted on DVD to the Tusten Theatre by 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 15 (no submission fee).
DIGIT will screen all Quick & Gritty works at the Video Slam on Sunday, June 15 at 12 p.m. at the Tusten Theatre. Works will be judged live on site, and the creator of the winning work will receive a $500 cash prize. Other prizes will also be awarded.
The Fifth Annual DIGIT Media Exposition will include continuous screenings, site specific performances, interactive concerts, and audio and video installations in and around Narrowsburg’s Main Street and the Delaware River.

The Neversink Valley Area Museum promotes the history of silent films made in our region and encourages film makers to explore films without dialogue. In 1909 D.W. Griffith and Billy Bitzer came to Cuddebackville NY to shoot westerns and other films. They returned numerous times. Thanhouser Film Company and Pathe Bros also filmed in this region.
