Christian Education Ministries of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church sponsors several student service opportunities for young people to volunteer their time and talent during the summer months. We offer the following options as a means of spiritual growth and service in the work of the Lord. There is no cost involved in any of these ministries. The application process includes a recommendation from the student’s church (pastor, youth leader, etc.).
Conference Work Crew
The Work Crew is a team of young people (high school senior and up) who assist in leading small groups and who perform general duties during the Horizon (senior high) and/or Quest (middle school) conferences. This group, overseen by Greg Hamer, provides a great service during both weeks. Contact the Christian Education Ministries office for further information.
Camp Joy Counselor
Camp Joy serves over 100 mentally handicapped campers during its three summer sessions. Each camper is assigned a “special friend” to be with them throughout the activities of the week. This person will serve as the caretaker for their camper. Counselors must be 16 years old. Contact the Christian Education Ministries office for further information.
Those seeking these service opportunities with Christian Education Ministries of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church should be spiritually mature and able to communicate their Christian testimony.
