Praying Through Change
The next evening prayer group will be held on Wednesday 28th October at 7.30 p.m. in the chapel. The next morning meeting will be held on Friday 6th November at 10.30 a.m. in the Chapel. All are welcome.
Police Neighbourhood Tasking Meetings:
The next meeting for the Cotteridge area will be held on Wednesday, 4th November at 7.00 p.m. here at The Cotteridge Church.
The next meeting for the Kings Norton area will be held on Wednesday, 18th November at 6.00 p.m. at the Fairway Junior School, Fairway Gardens, Kings Norton.
Junior Church in summer... and beyond:
After 19th July Junior Church will break for the summer, restarting on Sunday 6th September). During the summer break, toys and colouring will be available in the room where creche and beginners meet throughout the morning service, but will not be staffed - parents/carers will be responsible for their own children.
Promotion Sunday will be on 13th September. All children who have moved up a school will be promoted to the next group. A presentation is made during the morning service, before children go to groups.
From September onwards, Junior Church groups meet as follows:
1st Sunday of each month: Parade/all age worship. Only creche/ beginners leave service
2nd Sunday: Creche/beginners, Primary and Juniors meet (no Seniors) after starting in church
3rd Sunday: All groups meet after starting in church
4th Sunday: All start in groups and come into church for Communion
5th Sunday (when applicable): All groups meet together after starting in church
Saturday evening 28th November – Barn Dance
Please note that there will be a Barn Dance at church on the evening of Saturday, 28th November, as a fundraiser for Imogen Sprackling’s Girl guiding visit to Botswana in 2010 - more details to follow shortly.
Pennine Way Outing Wednesday 18th November
An extra outing has been arranged to Boundary Mills, Nr. Walsall - your chance to buy, browse, get ideas for Christmas, stay warm, dry and comfortable and relax in the coffee shop. Coach will depart from Cotteridge Church at 11.00 a.m. returning approximately 3.00 – 3.30 p.m. Tickets £6 each available from Rita Sutton from 26th October. All welcome. Please book early.
Transforming Church: The Bishop’s Conference – for anyone interested in taking part in this initiative – will be held on Saturday, 21st November, at the University of Birmingham, from 9.45 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. For further information please contact Gill Salkeld on 0121-475-5956.
Vision4Mission: The URC is planning an exciting one off event to inspire and give new ideas to churches as they think about their future. It will be a ‘24 hour’ event from 7.00 p.m. on 12th March to 5.30 p.m. on 13th March at the Holiday Inn in the city centre, but it is also possible to go just for the Saturday, when there will be integral activities for 8s to 14s. (15s upwards are welcome to the main event.) The venue needs an early indication of numbers, so it would really help if you could have a word with Jacky as soon as possible, if you might be interested.
World Missions - dates for your diary:
