Tuina Medical Massage

Oriental Medical Massage
Tuina is the oldest known form of traditional Chinese physical therapy. It has a long history of clinical studies showing efficacy in treating both chronic and acute medical problems. This form of medical massage can also be used to protect health and increase immunity so that diseases can be prevented, without any side effects. Tuina uses the theories of traditional Chinese medicine as its basis for treatment in order to manipulate the flow of energy and blood, thereby naturally allowing the body to return to a balanced-healthy state. Tuina methods include various hand and arm techniques to massage the soft tissues of the body, stimulation of acupressure points to directly affect the flow of qi energy through the meridian system, and gentle stretches to realign the body. External herbal poultices, compresses, liniments, salves, and heat are also used to enhance the other therapeutic methods.
