iWeb Enhancer AdSense Tutorial

Google AdSense is a great tool to begin earning revenue on your website.  Google will pay you for visitors seeing and clicking on those ads.  You can also earn money by recruiting others to place ads on their site or by including a Google search box on your pages.  This tutorial will guide you through the process of using iWeb and iWeb Enhancer to add Google AdSense to your site.

Step 1 - Sign up for a Google AdSense Account
It is quick and easy, and best of all, it is free. Click on the button below to get your Google AdSense Account now and start earning money on your site.
Step 2 - Choose the Ad Type

Log into your AdSense account and click on “AdSense Setup”. Choose the type of ads you would like to add to your site. For the purpose of this tutorial, we will use “AdSense for content”, but you can use any type of ads you would like.
Step 4 - Add the Code in iWeb
In iWeb, go to the page where you want to place your ads. Use the shape tool to draw a rounded rectangle on the page where you want the ads to appear. Be sure to make the rectangle the same size as the ad you created in Step 3. Double-click inside the rounded rectangle and type the following: <!--BeginHTMLData-->

The <!--BeginHTMLData--> tag tells iWeb Enhancer to pay attention to the following code. Without it, iWeb Enhancer will skip right over your code and not insert your ad.

Now, paste the code from Google directly after the BeginHTMLData tag. Make sure that you paste it inside the rectangle and not in a separate text box.
Step 5 - Publish Your Site

You can publish your site to .Mac or to a folder. For the purposes of this tutorial we will publish to a folder.
Step 6 - Run iWeb Enhancer
Step 7 - You’re Done!
If you followed this tutorial correctly you should now have Google AdSense on your site. If you are using .Mac it is already online and ready to go. If you published to a folder, you can now upload it to your server using whatever means you normally do. If you have any questions or comments, leave them in the comments section below. Thanks for sticking with me all the way to the end! Doesn’t success feel good?

One More Thing - I am currently working on several other tutorials for iWeb Enhancer. I would appreciate your feedback in the comments section about this tutorial. How could I make it better? What did you like? What could be more clear? Do you have ideas for tutorials that I haven’t listed on my front page? Let me hear them.../Chad/Blog/54A3ACD4-945E-4EC8-8BA9-148FB6E10C6C.htmlshapeimage_7_link_0

Run iWeb Enhancer and choose your site folder. If you are using .Mac, navigate to your iDisk > Web > Sites > iWeb folder and choose your site folder. NOTE: If you are using .Mac and you have iDisk Syncing turned on, you have to manually sync your iDisk before and after running iWeb Enhancer! To sync, click on the sync button next to your iDisk in the Finder.

Step 3 - Get the Code

Continue through the steps to configure your ads. You can set the size, color, and other defaults. For this tutorial we will choose a banner ad that is 728 x 90 px. Copy the code that Google generates. You will need this later in the tutorial to paste into iWeb. Back to iWeb Enhancer ➤
