West Catholic Players of the Week Honors

West Catholic 35, McDevitt 6 (9-22-07)

Offensive Player of the Week:

Curtis Drake (Jr. – QB)

-In just one half of action Drake threw for 219 yards (9-for-11 passing) and 4 touchdowns (65, 19, 25, & 43 yards). He also rushed three times for 37 yards, giving him 256 yards of offense in a single half of play!

Defensive Player of the Week:

Artis Carroll (Jr. – DE/OLB)

-Carroll made a fumble recovery in the first quarter to set-up the Burrs’ second touchdown. He later added a sack that loss 12 yards. All total, he finished with four tackles.

 

Special Teams Player of the Week:

Frank Valverde (Sr. – K)

-After having his first PAT blocked Valverde connected on three straight attempts. He also kicked-off well and helped limit the Lancers’ return unit just 15.8 yards per kickoff return. Valverde is also a member of the West soccer team.
