“First Bite is drama without the stress!” (Junior Youth Theatre member - 2007).
The 20 members of the Junior Youth Theatre range from children with no experience to those who have been in the company for 5 years. What they all have in common is a love of performing and a commitment to the group which involves turning up every week, learning lines and contributing their skills and ideas to each project undertaken. There are three terms in the Youth Theatre year. The first two are taken up with rehearsals for the annual production which takes place in May. In the third term participants develop skills in movement, voice, improvisation, and characterisation, and create devised pieces which are presented at the Youth Theatre end of year show in June.
Thursdays 6.10 - 8.10pm : 12 - 17 year olds (Southside Community Centre, 117 Nicolson Street, Edinburgh EH8 9ER)
