The first annual “For A Good Kaza” benefit was a smashing success! Two amazing bands, “EZ-Co” and “The Peter Martin Band”, donated their time and talents for the evening and were cheered by an audience hailing from all corners of Washington state and beyond! Bronwyn Edwards also teased the crowd with her tunes, enticing them to attend the next AWW benefit on February 15 in West Seattle. The event was held at the oh-so-hip Egan’s Ballard Jam House in Historic Old-Town Ballard.

Everyone in attendance had their names put into a raffle and prizes were won throughout the evening- the grand prize, going to Terri Gangyon at the close of events. Supporters not only had the chance to win lots of cool prizes, they also had an opportunity to see photos and slides of the project in Kaza, as well as hear about the organization’s goals and aspirations. Overall, there was an excited buzz about the education project in India and an overwhelming amount of support!

The co-founders, Griff and Mandy wish to thank everyone who made this night possible including the bands listed above, Heather and Ben at Egan’s, Ila Eells for procuring and organizing the raffle prizes, Randy Cryer for tech support, and Martin Kang for designing the t-shirt logo. In all honesty, the attendees at the benefit MADE the evening….such a fun, supportive crowd cannot go over-looked!

So, get set for next year! If you were at this year’s shin-dig, be sure to tell everyone what fun you had and invite them to next year’s concert. If you weren’t able to make it, be sure to come see us next year to join in the fun!
