I’m Carol Siegal, designer and creator of handknit accessories and other items. As a child, I was taught to crochet by my clothing designer mother. After many years and several careers and lives away from yarn, I taught myself to knit and have embraced this medium for my artistic expression.
With an eye to color and quality, I seek out yarns that look good, feel soothing and last. My materials come from specialty yarn stores that offer only the finest fibers from around the world; for example, cotton, wool, alpaca, angora, mohair, silk, cashmere, new man-made fibers and even stainless steel to name just a few! I also enjoy experimenting with different decorative stitch patterns and techniques such as felting, where I knit humongous pieces and then shrink them into wonderfully-textured, wearable accessories. I draw inspiration from many places, and in particular, from my 9 year-old daughter, Rachel, who takes an active role in naming most of my creations!
I get pleasure in seeing the faces of the wearers of my accessories. I believe that a piece so lovingly made is worth so much more to the owner than a mass-market item, and I am sure you will too!
Viewing by appointment. Custom orders more than welcome!
