ok here’s how it usually seems to work:

lou lou is stuck somewhere she doesn’t want to be, doing something she doesn’t want to be doing, so she pulls out her notebook or a scrap of paper or a kleenex, anything really, and starts writing… meanwhile, george is in his room with a guitar and garageband. pretty soon it kinda starts to come together -- a chord progression + a bit of melody, and he says hey lou lou let me see some lyrics. so she

pokes around and maybe under some dirty laundry or

long-abandoned snack she finds her wordstash.

george rummages through, looking for what fits.

the song grows... he starts overdubbing instrumental tracks and sometime in the early morning hours, ready for vocals, george summons lou lou. tired and cranky (and really not feeling so good, not at all) lou lou complains a lot, but she lays it down. one take, or 2…
