riding home from south bay

Half Moon in the tail of Scorpio, low enough to cast great shadows and just bright enough to light the back roads. Cool, cool evening, a chorus of crickets, not a breeze.
Shooting star.
A bat just flew close by.

I rode out to a friend’s party at sunset, sat around the fire and had a couple of beers. A really nice relaxing evening. As soon as the sun set, the dew set in and it got cold. The night was cloudless and as calm as it gets. I got on my way at about 10:30 and rode back home (about 20 km). I think I only saw about 4 cars along the way. It’s great to live in such a quiet area, and it was one of the best rides this year.
