Every now and then I am tempted to take the most economical taxi service in town... the 3 wheeled motorbikes with canopy, “san lun che”.  The legal status and general safety of these bikes is very questionable.  Below are images taken from inside covered 3 wheel motorbikes, or as I call them, deathmobiles.   Regardless of how crazy or law abiding the driver is, never,  the passenger is guaranteed to experience an adrenalin rush as the speedy bike weaves through spaces sparing only centimeters away from city buses, bmws, bicycles and pedestrians. Unfortunately, I can’t share the deafening sound of the engine, or the pungent smell of gasoline that can make your eyes water. ( the passenger seat sits on top of the gas tank)  However, you will be able to get a sense that the deathmobile is free to ignore all traffic patterns and regulations.  Enjoy the ride!
