I joined an interesting site

I joined a new website today called protagonize. It looks like n interesting concept thought the site isn’t all that intuitive as it is. I hope to find some interesting stuff in my genre and perhaps I can contribute to it.

On a family front we have decided to sell our house so there won’t be all that much time for writing what with all the work that needs to be done before we can list this thing. It is in pretty rough shape as it is and Edmonton is very much a buyers market at the present.

My family is having fun at Mayday and I am in the house alone so I thought I would say hello to all those folks who read this blog and write a word or two.

I am thinking about my new book and how sometimes the words come in flurries and I get excited and then I don’t write anything for weeks. I wonder what my problem is - perhaps I need to write some more. Should I start today... hmmm... maybe I should get back to it.

I keep seeing dialogue in my mind. I think of situations and I think of characters that I want in the book. I am excited by it all.

I am a writer... sorta...

I enjoy writing stories and expressing ideas and sharing opinions. Only problem is that I have to do it consistently enough that I can get people to begin to want to read what I write. I wonder if someone will one day read this blog besides my wife and good friends.

I have started my fourth novel yesterday. The trick is actually finishing one. My record is 70,000 words. So far in my newest exploit I have a whopping 1,000 words. It’s all good. If I get typing maybe I can make something I will be proud to have people read... stay tuned

It’s final. today I officially own a property in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. I have a property manager and a lawyer and a real estate agent and tenants.

Now I hope that the rents will cover all of my expenses...

I have never tried surfing. The closest I came was water skiing, and I must say I was pretty pathetic at that. When I was in Ucluelet last fall I had my first hankering to try. I wonder if I ever will. It requires a lot of dedication I think. I did enjoy the movie Point Break, though!

I kinda fell in love with the ocean while I was holding my wife on the beach. She said she could hear the earth breathe as we listened to the bass rumble of waves crashing all around us. I think that summed it up fairly well. Ahhh I wish I could go back there.
